  3. I'm just giving my opinion, I've seen all the others played at amateur and professional level, and the only honest game is Rugby, the only game where mutual respect and fair play is guaranteed by the Referee, the only game where the visiting team and fans become honorary members of the host team for the day.

I'd debate that - Aberavon on a cold, wet, Saturday evening in December as they stamp on your nuts for the third time in the game calling us City Slickers - we were from Cardiff ffs!

Going down the tunnel at half time, I got gobbed on by some woman - fair play to her for colour and consistency.

Playing rugby league in Salford when in the prematch stand around one of their guys gets himself so would up he head butts our changing room door and cuts his forehead clean open - we open the door and the floor is all red with his blood. Intimidated a lot of guys, not me, see above! Also, I knew he wouldn't be playing after that, or if he did quick thumb in the stitches would have him off for blood.

Not all rugby is friendly on or off the field - though I agree it's very different to Football.

Ice Hockey. That is a fast-paced, action-packed team sport with respect for referees, players and supporters.

  9. Birmingham City FC (sigh). It's where I was born (well, not literally St Andrews.... but you know what I mean) so that's what I am stuck with. I don't believe in randomly choosing teams!

But seeing St Andrews is a not-so-convenient 500 miles away from me, I also go with the local team here, SV Darmstadt 98 in the mighty German 3. Bundesliga, who reassuringly are even more rubbish than Birmingham....

I was there Barn. 21 tokens from the programme you needed for a ticket. The Doc and Gordon Hill came to our local supporters do the following year after we beat Liverpool 2.1 and won it. He said they just went on the beer after losing to Southampton.

Oh yes, and Romsey Town Youth :)

  19. I liked Elmo when he played for us but wasnt sure he was premiership quality. Meyler was always a hard worker as well. Bruce was never going to be liked being a geordie unless he won a cup. You have a few injuries and after Sunday I think we'll get a result.
