we have been having mole issues on the back lawn ... wife won`t let me get the `mole man `in to kill it so it scare tacics ... she bought one of those sonic things but i was thinking its not going to work . I gave the lawn a good forking this morning as there wre fresh mounds then this afternoon the wife went out .... SO armed with a camping gas cylinder and a box of matches i found one of the runs with a fork . I made a nice hole puntured the cylinder and quickly shoved it down the hole ....that`ll gas the little bugger i thought ....... i left it a minute then started flicking matches at it ... but the matches were a bit damp where they were in the garage so i got closer and lit a match ....WOOOOOOOOF an ever increasing circle of flame spread across the garden till i had a 10 foot diameter of burning grass 8 inches high .Feck i thought as i`m running for the back door .. I had 2 foot high jets of flame from all the fork holes i put in earlier... it was quite impressive and hopefully moles gone
They will be back Im afraid there is only one way to deal with moles in my experiance once you have delt with one lot another lot move into the territory I find it strange how many people who deem all creatures as fluffy saveable animals soon go on the opposite foot when the loverly lawn is ruined by them Me i think moles are awesome They bring soil to the surface that has been hiding for years sometimes bringing treasure up with it( A mole has no need for saxon gold) The soil moles bring up to form mole hills is a great top dressing for potted plants If someones over run with them im very good at dealing with them and nomrally that sees me in good standing for access to land from them folks
Our cat did kill one about 6 weeks ago .aand i agree amazing creatures but not in my back garden . I never for one minute thought it would set the whole lawn of fire . There must be a ton of burrows there
Not had moles for a while, but immediately call the mole man as soon as a molehill appears, or they take over the whole garden.
