so..I'm sat on the balcony of my apartment in a small village / hamlet in Spain off the beaten track( ish) having a quite glass of tinto ...I hear a familiar voice , look up and there's one of my best mates waking up the steps towards me ..both flabbergasted that we'd bumped into each other I such a bizarre place , it really is a small world ..

I think any unplanned unexpected meet up will always end up with the words '
Small world ' at some point

  5. A few years ago I flew off to mexico for a nice break...14 hour flight and straight to the bar for cocktails, it was 11am..
all I heard from behind me was 'just you behave young steve or I'll tell your mam when I get home' I look around and one of my mum's mates stood behind me with her arms folded and a face like thunder... fu******** you can't get away from them. .

  6. My mum bumped into her cousin at the Sydney Opera house.

It's weird when these things happen, bumped into a customer of mine at the Italian grand prix at Monza many years ago, was stood about 10 feet away from @carlot25 at LeMans in a crowd of 200,000, last Saturday my wife mentioned a guy I'd not seen for 12 years then on Sunday he got on a packed train and stood next to me after the England game!

i was camping a few miles away from where he was (unbeknown to us both) his campsite was on a road a lot higher up than ours so he could see us from above - at the time my bay was probably quite recognisable being brown, we could hear shouting (he was shouting from the road) but didn't think anything of it, then a bit later we're outside and walking up to the van is a familiar shape (or hat?) mrs says - is that dave? - it was, so we went to the pub.

Ha ha , neither of us knew , he was over here on a last minute thing ( his partners parents have a place about 20miles from where I am) it was one of the most surreal things - I wish I'd got his reaction on video when he saw me :)

  13. We met a french couple in Turkey and travelled through Iran with them for a while, we were planning on being in Goa around the same time so we said we'd meet up, the phones didn't work in India so we lost touch and didn't see them again until 12 months later when we pulled up into a small resturant in Guatamala and parked right in front of them, weird.:)

  14. This happened three times to us now.......in Lanzarote, Malta and once in Africa, bumped into workmates who work at the same place as us! Each time they were staying at the same hotel at the same time. Our workforce isn't that large either!

  15. When I was about 16 me and a mate went on holiday to Sidari, only to see our geography teacher on the other side of the road, we jumped in the bushes complete with the beers we had just bought

So..sat in a bar tonight and got chatting to a couple who had a recogniseable accent - I asked them where they were from and they said Leicester , once we'd got over the bragging about the footy team - they asked Us where we were from as soon as I said where we were from , a woman across the bar said she knew someone near us ....turns out her brother lives next door but one from us
