Hi, Due to corrosion i have had to replace the long metal pipe that the wiring loom goes through from front to rear on my 74 Westfalia .I managed to get a cut a replacement section of pipe from a temporary metal meshed fence that are commonly used on construction sites or building plots that are due to be developed .It is the same bore, galvanised and best of all free .

Good tip , i was thinking of using black half circle conduit from b&q :)

  3. Need to do the same with mine, which end of the loom should I disconnect and re-thread thru new tube?

I will probably scrounge some metal conduit from my electricians, do you know what size I will need?

    Cheers!

  7. Thats the conclusion id come to when looking at it and wasent looking forward to it

I may modify the rear cross member and remake the whole system to a design of my own

My bus isnt going to be a show bus and its only myself and the mot tester who will see underneath it so it shouldent matter
But i do want the standard heating set up and working even if its only to demist the screen in the colder months

  9. I think the Y sections are the only bits still in place on my bus, lol! That job is well down my list as we all have nice thick coats to wear! 😉

Will have to see if I can find some fence post from somewhere, do you know what the internal clear diameter needs to be?

    Cheers....

  11. Good tip which end did you disconnect the wiring from? I'd assume the back would be easiest. :)
