  2. There should be a spring there...mine had gone sometime in the past so I made one from the spring used on a butterfly plasterboard fixing. Going from memory it was basicaly the same shape as the other two on there.... a hook end that rested on the back of the latch...a single turn of spring around the latch pivot (removed using a pin punch) and a short straight section bearing against the casting to tension the spring.

  3. don't suppose you got any pics

  4. Hmm didn't go quite as planned however there is a pic of a Rawlplug plasterboard/hollowboard fixing and above it the dissembled version with the spring bit you need to bend up for your latch.
You will probably need to scrub the casting a bit to spot the end of the latch pivot but once located its easy to drive out..its diameter is something in the region of 3mm.

I realised there was something missing and made a spring out of a clothes peg spring, as it looks about the same thickness as the other springs around the door mechanism.

Hooks into a little hole in the casting just above the door lever (finger is pointing in general direction at the start of the video) and outboard of it, and pushes on the hook in the end of the lever

Spring is available from BusOK in Holland.

My sliding door doesn't lock open and looking at these images shows me there's a latch missing (and presumably the spring!) - thanks, this is a really good site!!
