Sliding door seal

  1. In the process of fitting a new seal to a rh drive van, anyone with clear pics regarding which way the seal goes (ie which bit of the seal should be on the hinge side?

    Previously made this mistake myself-

Its fitted with the flappy part at the rear edge/hinge end of the door - and the flap points forwards.

  3. Yup, just need to think how you'd seal the door when it closes. Flappy bit rear, bumpy bit for'ard

  4. Is this correct? image.jpg

  5. Did mine today, luckily I saw this thread this morning so i fitted mine the right way round because the one already on it was backwards and I would have just copied it

My new game at shows is gonna be try and find the back to front rubbers

I wonder how many people have walked past mine and noticed it

You have the seal the right way round but it's twisted 90 degs. The face you have pointing to the rear of the van should be at the bottom of the channel and the flap points forwards and outwards.

  7. Although not relevant to your question, I think you'll have trouble refitting the slider cover panel with that threaded rod in place. I'm guessing you had to drill out the original Philips screw. I did.

It's fiddly but once you have the panel back in place it's possible to slip a nut in on top of the bracket and a bolt from below.

  8. Zed, is that correct? So the flappy bit will be pointing out 90 degrees to the van??

  9. Cheers Andy, it's just in loose at the mo, yes I had to drill it out, I reckon there is enough to get a small angled spanner in, suppose I should have tapped it and put a set screw in!
