  1. hi everyone
i have a sliding door which was originally standard but has a panel welded over the opening which i have got a qoute to a panel van conersion seal and window install. however i understand i might need an internal part that surrounds the window on the inside? if so does any one have the parts for sale please as it would be nice to finish it off:)
    thanks

theres a fiberglass molding to cover the inside but you will struggle to find one
your better off getting an original door and selling you panel van door
if ive read your post correctly

  3. my door is an original standard(not panel) so a cover of any kind for inside the window is what im looking for. ill keep looking for a fibreglass or similiar. hopefully someone might have one:)

  13. Mine was originally a panel van conversion but I have bought a new slider so have the parts you need.

I think the fibreglass part is a little tatty and has small damage on one corner, this could be easily repaired with fibreglass filler a rub down and lick of paint, I think I may even have the glass and a decent condition seal and insert.

I wouldn't really want to post it though as the fibreglass part would be easily broken.

I'm in Teesside if you are interested, I could get you some pics over the next few days when I get chance to dig them out of my pile of parts. I stripped it almost a year ago now and didn't pay much attention to these bits so can't promise anything condition wise!

  14. that would be great and thanks for your trouble but i think the difficulty will be getting up to you:( as i live in kent. id be happy to do the finishing etc but understand abt the posting.
maybe ill pm u if i ever go your way!

  15. any pic would be helpful when you can- thankyou

I've got one of the fibreglass inner cover panels - wondering how much demand there is if I were to start replicating them in fibreglass?

  17. Ok I will get some pics up, then the option is there if you or anybody you know is heading this way, didn't realise you were in Kent!

When not attached to a door the fibreglass trims are big wobbly thing that would break if you look them the wrong way!

For what you would pay for your window being opened back up and finding a fibreglass trim (quite rare and sought after apparently) you are probably half way towards buying a used factory window door.

I know us convert panel owners get stick about the windows but to be honest a factory window sliding door does look a lot better than a panel conversion.

It took me about 6 months of ringing places and checking ebay everyday but I eventually found one, they are getting thin on the ground but do pop up now and again.

Here's the best pic I've got of the inside of a standard camper door, a panel van door will have gaps between the inner door frame and the window glass, which the above cover would cover up.
