WANTED sliding door handle/lock mechanism

Im after the front part which the handles and lock fit into (i have handles and lock)

Have you tried oiling and adjusting them ?

 

The outer handle came off in my hand including the part that it secures/screws into!
Had a look and looks like that part has broken off
Not investigated fully as happened at v dub island so will take off and see if I can fix but as far as I can see it's knakered unless you know what's happened and if it's fixable ?

 

There are 12 different versions of the remote control lock (to use VW's own terminology) depending on LHD/RHD, year and model.
This leads to a lot of confusion.
Depending on chassis number you will need either:
221 843 654 A which applies to chassis # 214 2000 001 up to 216 2016 733, or
211 843 654 J which applies to 216 2016 734 onwards.
So if you come to buy any it is vital that you check the part number.

I've got a 221 843 654A but it has a small piece broken off the bit that holds the rubber pieces, below the part number.
If it might be of use and you want some photos pm me your email as I'm having internet problems at the moment

@vwed I have found a second hand mech i was looking for (211 843 654 J) off side door
the guy also has a near side mech hes offered me but the part number is different than what i thought
i thought it should be 214843653J but he said its 214 843 653H but cant find anything about this part number
any idea if this would be useable??

653 H doesn't show up in the VW parts books/microfiches. Maybe he has read the number wrongly, maybe there was such a part number but for some reason it didn't get listed in the parts books/microfiches and was quickly superseded by 653 J. Why not ask for photos and see if it matches up (inversely) with the 654 J.

 

He's told me it looks the same as 654j but obviously opposite side
Yea I think he's eaither read it wrong or the H is next to the J on the key pad so could have been an typo

so the guy sent me some pics and the nearside sliding door mech is definatly 653H
a couple of differences to the J but nothing to stop it being compitable as far as i can see but will just buy the 654J
