Sliding Door Frustration!!!

Guys need some help once again! Sliding door is giving me such a headache! So I have replaced the rather expensive roller and also change the nylon guide. I have also regreased all that needs greasing and I am still having issues!! The alignment of the door looks good and it opens fine however when I try and close the door the rear of the door pops out!. To close the door I have to put my hand on the back to put pressure on it and use one or two slams to shut it!

Please can someone with more knowledge and experience please help!

 

is there anything missing from the top of the rear of the door to allow the bottom of the door to 'pop out'?

You did oil the pivot of the U bracket on the door?

sounds like you might have to re adjust the latch on the C pillar

 

When I close my door I have to lift the handle & it pulls it shut, not sure if this is for all years or just the early style (mines a 1972)

 

there's a full resto. on youtube and the guy mentions you have to be careful with a cam at the top of the U bolt to make sure it's on correctly.

 

mine is exactly the same problem, i really hurt my arm trying to close it last year at the winter camp... its the rear bit that looks a bit like a hook at the back that needs replacing and the main door catch on mine... the whole box bit... its a nightmare especially when the dorr is when and your hand slips about...

 

Ok, Greasing the track and motor oiling the hinge has immediatly helped. However I am not sure this has not just helped with door closing quicker as it seams to slam shut easier maybe masking the problem? There does seam to be a lot of play in the U Shaped hinge. When I lift the back of the door there seams to be a lot of moment within U Shaped hinge itself on the door side.
