Sliding door/front panel advice

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Kkkaty, May 12, 2019.

  1. The bottom of my sliding door is bubbling. I’ve seen door base patches to weld on. Are some better than others, does anyone know?
Also I’m pricing up putting whole new face on the van (after driving the van into the end of the garage a couple of years back. Oops. Popped the dent out but it's never been the same..) again does anyone know the best place to source one?
    Thanks

I wouldn’t put a front on unless absolutely necessary, have a body shop repair it properly, sliding door repair from AH Schofields, only necessary if the doors rotten otherwise repair where required

Have you got any photos of the sliding door where it’s bubbling?

On Major, we used the Autocraft Engineering repair panel for the outer skin and for the inside where it was rotten, we selectively cut the rot out and replaced with similar from the available inner repair section, I think it was Klokkerholm.

Somewhere in Majors restoration thread, maybe at the start, you’ll find some images of what we did

  6. Go back to my guys and get it done properly, I’m sure they will forgive you !!!
They did Matilda’s front panel 6 years ago when the correct panels first became available
