I am getting to the point of looking at curtains. I already have some curtain rails round the bus (which I am keeping). These are the type without curtain hooks. The curtain has a pocket in the top and the rail goes through it. But I don't have a rail around/over the sliding door. I have seen a rail that would do the same job on other buses but can't find where to buy them. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Hi Ady...hope you're cracking on with your refit....most buses I've come across have a continuous length of Aluminium rail pop rivetted along the side of the bus just below headlining height (made by Silent gliss) You can buy lengths of it from various places BUT it's a bitch to get the bends just right, especially around the front screen below the visors...plus it requires tiny pop rivets and a lot of swearing....try O'Briens Camping, or Leisure Spares for Silent Gliss if you want to go down this route, or google caravan curtain track images for something similar to the stuff you have already. Another option is to fit curtain chord above and below the sliding door window and have two short curtains hemmed over....Save you the hassle of undrawing/drawing the curtain every time you nip out at night for a p*ss
Hi there I don't want to use the silent gliss as it would be completely different to what i already have. I was at T2D yesterday and on every late bay they have in (5) there was a metal strip that ran along the inside of the upper guide for the sliding door. The curtains then slipped onto this without curtain hooks just like my side ones do. I didnt have my phone with me so couldnt take a photo.
Email them and ask, if you do find out let me know, I'd rather drill two holes than flamin six plus! Silent gliss fitting is doing my nut in!
I found a picture online of what I am talking about. It's not the best but hopefully can give you an idea
I found this picture of the curtain rails for a splitty. The ones I saw on the late bays for the sliding door was the same material
I still haven't got anywhere with this. Anyone have any good ideas of where I can buy either an original curtain rail like this or the aluminium so I can make one? Cheers
They don't seem to do anything like the pictures above. The closest I can find on that website is the flat bar. That will just shred the curtains over time.
