  1. my girlfriends son, 11, spends ages at the skate park on his micro scooter thing.
i have my 5 year old son this weekend so i took him to the skatepark on his scooter. he loved it on the little ramps etc.
the place was packed with kids from 5 to 16/17 ish
an hour or so later these 2 guys turn up on skateboards. i dont know how old they were but they were balding and had beards, loads of tattoos etc.
so the question is, how old is too old for the skate park?
i think if you are old enough to drive its time to hang up your board. just something odd about people pushing 30 wanting to hang around with school kids

  2. You're never too old. Thats the problem with adults they forget how to be childish and have fun for funs sake. You're a long time dead. Enjoy yourself.

  3. You dont stop playing because you grow old

I don't ride ramps anymore as bailing seems to hurt more than it used to but I still regularly use my longboard to pick the car up from the pub carpark!

  5. skatepark = for children to play , away from "adults" (and that is my opinion ) i mean , "adults" reading harry potter books , says it all , it was for children ,

  6.
  7. A lad I used to know yonks ago became a pro skater in the states when he was in his 30s

  8. I find there is no better way to unwind after work than to grab my Alien Workshop deck, with Cadillac trucks and mini rocks and go and bust some mean ollies and grind a couple of rails. Then go home, listen to the Archers with a nice mug of Horlicks.

  9. playgrounds arn't just for kids that's why there has been such an up rise in the installation of outside gym equipment.
    go play, run and jump
    bek

I think the only time its dodgy is if they turn up and are crap!

Skate culture is not really age related - its also limited at times by resources - there aren't many skateparks - same as swimming - its not like they are grabbing skipping ropes or fighting for the slide or swings now is it?

When I was a kid the older guys taught us how to do tricks - remember the first generation of skateboards were around in the late 70's so the older guys have probably done it all their lives.

  11. That's like a pro skater turning 30- 40'and not being aloud to skate because of your age , who would show the kids what to do if there were no older people to teach them.
