Super talent - 100% behind this due to his ability, plus I like him, he backs up the chat. I want my 'knights' to live in tax exile for the last 10 years and contribute nothing to our economy - not like he's alone to be fair to him and at least he doesn't sit in Parliament like some Victorian Silent Movie Villain like Jacob Rees Mogg telling the rest of us how to live lawfully.
Arise Sir Lewis - deserved more than many I could name - yes Philip Green and Richard Branson among them
dont agree with this^ agree he should be recognised for his contribution to British Sports, But not a Sir... not yet...
Not that I'm agreeing to a Sir Lewis, though it might suit me. But not my viewpoint on the establishment and the monarchy Bradley Wiggins, who I do admire got a knighthood after winning one Le Tour and a the Olympic Time trial (yes, a few medals beforehand too).
? How many world championships does he need to win!? That Woodward burk got one off surfing on the shoulders of Martin Johnson and ballsing up the Lions and England for a good few years!
I don't agree either. Little rich kid made good, yes he has talent but I don't like his attitude and his neo black politics (sorry to be political) so it's a no from me.
You make valid points that they are handed out too easily and essentially they dilute the meaning of it.. They should give the title of Sir to people who go above and beyond.. Not just in their chosen sport etc but also other areas for the country. Lewis has no link to the UK apart from him birth certificate and family. Thats my opinion just as the Originators. Why would they get a Knighthood? Under that reasoning, Javelin, Tennis racket, rugby ball, football, sailing boats etc etc. manufacturers should all get honours too?
Captain Tom yes, bloke with came up with the vaccine yes, the little boy with no legs who walked on his artificial legs for the children's ward at guys yes, spoilt opinionated rich kid driving a car no way
Yep I tend to agree. a knighthood for turning up to work everyday and getting paid a small fortune to do it.
I don’t like the bloke but (apparently) there is no denying he’s a great driver. Should he be knighted? Personally, I couldn’t care less.
Definitely a great driver but unlike other great F1 drivers has only done it in the biggest team with the most money & sponsors. Be interesting to see how a season would go driving for the Haas team.
Dont care much for Hamilton, don't like F1. What I can understand is what we are doing knighting all these people for playing games. And if he so wants to represent Great Britain or whatever we are allowed to call it nowadays why doesn't he live here. Living here and paying taxes for 10 years should be a precondition.
