Im building up a single port engine for my van, its a 1500 with 1600 B+Ps
I have a choice of a 30 pict 1 0r 30 pict 2 carb (although the pict 2 is in better nick). They are both originally off a 1500. From what I have read the jetting should be ok for the 1600 capacity, Anyone know if I would be better off with the 1 or 2 ?

  2. the 30 Pict 2 had a power jet, which is worth having....think they're both the same choke size...both will work on a 1600

Good I have 2x pict 2s so should be able to make a good one!

  4. so it still has single port heads?

Yes, its for me split so I wanted it to look a bit right, I have a 40 hp air cleaner for it, none of it 57 but to the untrained eye it looks right!

  6. I will know, also I will guess about bigger b and p ,I will not be able to look at it...:D

I doubt the 1600 pistons will add any extra power ,without going the twin port route..

Maybe no more power but the 1600 b&ps a quite a lot cheaper.

  8. You will like single port engines ,they are more torque (and the heads rarely crack) ,had one in my pickup...
