We fancy a few weekends with the kids this year - our first full year with the camper. Any recommendations for events - not too rowdy - with 2 kids under 8. We wouldn't want to travel too far for a couple of nights away. Lake district / North Yorks is a s far North and As far South as the Midlands/Staffs would be ok. The eskdale one looks good , but booked up already.
Deva Dubs, Shrewsbury in June is good for kids. We camped just down the road...lovely place, quiet, ducks for the kids, cheap too http://www.morris-leisure.co.uk/caravan-parks/oxon-hall/overview.htm
The best festival I could recommend with kids is Camp Bestival http://www.campbestival.net/ . Its totally safe and child environment . The camper van field is good . The majority of festivals i would not recommend for kids but this one I would.
@tyke2 Camperjam in July is great for kiddies as they have a lot of free stuff going on for them. There's a Hallowe'en camp at Eskdale during the October half term hols. They've planned spooky activities for kids and there's stuff going on at Muncaster castle and the L'al Ratty railway too. I'd book quickly for this as there's limited electric hookup for the chilly October nights
@tyke2 , Just So is great for families, it's in Cheshire somewhere..... Wood Festival in Oxfordshire likewise, or Deer Shed in North Yorks.
