  1. That's really neat Zed. Now I've got too many conflicting ideas for mine.
What software did you use to draw up the kitchen?
You get a lot more storage space but any regrets about losing the walk through?

  3. So it's an 8/9 seater party bus with all the essentials for camping weekends as well. Nice.

  4. Interior design packages I've seen have quite steep learning curves, and unless you're going to use them a lot, it's often easier to use pen and paper.
I'm trying to make cardboard mock-ups of everything first to make sure I like the size and feel of it beforehand.

  5. Very nice Zed, come on a long way since I seen you last fella!! Good work and certainly inspired me :)

Major... where did you get your veneer from? is it preglued?

Looks good, I've considered a couple of curves in mine, but I've only found 300mm wide veneer sheets

  9. I got the veneer from here www.slhardwoods.co.uk and glued it with contact adhesive I would have preferred to have used pva but with no real way to clamp it contact adhesive was easier

Cheers... that's a familiar name, I'll go and have a look!

  11. Hi Major, your handiwork has really encouraged me to have a go. K+
Which contact adhesive did you use?
Was it also from S L Hardwoods?
Was it recommended for outdoor use?

  12. Thought I'd revive this thread to ask about something we all secretly love but is far away from our welding sets and grinders....soft furnishings!

Ok, so, curtains! My girlfriend has very kindly offered to make me a set of curtains for the van. I have a silent gliss curtain rail set all around and a mock Devon Moonraker interior I made from these plans:

    http://www.devonmoonraker.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/bay/1978_Moonraker_Plans.pdf - pictures to follow

What I want to know is, does anybody have a set of measurements for curtains all around? Ive found some on ebay with dimensions but want to get the sizes confirmed. Also for those who have made curtains, any tips on materials, how much to buy etc?

    Any help greatly appreciated!

No but it's an oft asked question in my house! One of the companies who sell them do state the measurements on their website and how they make them (1 inch header tape, 1/4 inch seam, etc). the thing my misses pick up on that there is not a great deal of gather on the one which are sold... something like 50-80mm extra over the size of the windows.

Camper curtains shouldn't be full like house curtains or they'll block half the windows when they're open.

Have a look at VWcurtains they list the 'standard' curtain size

  16. Anythings an improvement from the bodged taped bin bags that i use to use in my bus lol

Ive a full set of magnetic curtains for a bus that ill happily swap for a bottle of single malt scotch
They even come in a matching carry bag and if i recall correctly i swapped them for a bottle of spirits when i got them

Massive improvement over the bin bags and bodge tape

What's the matter with them Para?

  18. Nowt dude

I had rails already fitted in my bus and i managed to pic up another set of curtains that should fit on the rails and fit in with the green colour of my bus better

You dont need any rails with these just take them out of the storage bag and stick them into place

  19. Oh ok, just thought you were gonna say they were rubbish as I've been debating on whether or not to refit my track?

  20. Rubbish no

Pain in the ass when you get drunk before fitting curtains yes lol
