I’ll see if I can dig out her address. Took her down there in the nineties - first time she’d been back to London for years - but didn’t get out the car. Wandering round South London estates at night not so good these days . She remembered that church on the green somewhere round there where they were holding a wedding reception. Place got a direct hit from a bomb, and killed the lot of them...

 

Streatham of course became “St Reatham” after the Guardian readers moved in...

 

I think she means St. Peter’s walworth Road, that was bombed the whole congregation were killed, my nan lost her best friend that day, she never got over it
