Finally fought the bamboo back into next doors garden whilst the sun was out this morning


Anyone want some bamboo rhizomes?! This morning’s pile for the bonfire.

 

This was just getting rid of the rhizome. I will be digging the trench deep enough to put in vertical 2mm thick bamboo barrier (50cm depth). But I can only do so much at a time, as it's bloody hard work! Paving slabs wouldn't really do it as there's too many gaps for the creeping rhizome to get through - a continuous run of barrier should do the trick. And no, I don't love digging so much that I want to do it again, I do plenty of it for a job!

It certainly ‘projected’ into my garden by about 2ft. But it’s done (albeit over a number of months), and when I’ve got the mental strength to go back to it, I’ll dig out the trench, put in the barrier, shove concrete in on top, and then get round to putting the new fence back up so that the blinking panels don’t keep blowing over in the wind against my car where they have been propped up against the house, patiently waiting, since October
