  2. Paint. Will use whatever I have in the cellar. I'm hoping for some pre 2012 voc White. All stuff now yellows and goes on like poo!
If not I have some zinsser perma White but it's so expensive and really need to save money and save that for better jobs.

There's a lot of hair in there I've just removed too! [IMG]

Looks like the pipe was chewed to length.

Unscrew the nut like bit and you should have a small ridged washer (possible red) and rubber/silicone washer .

Place Nut onto pipe followed by ridged washer then the rubber/silicone washer (this will be tapered), taper to face the trap.

Push pipe into trap and tighten nut, only ever hand tighten or thread damage may occur and leaks.
A real plumbing person may come along and say if I gone wrong.

  7. Are they even compatible fittings? Is the one on the right a pukka compression fitting?

I wasn't sure but the black pipe looks tapered or stretched to fit.

  10. Dunno. My kitchen ceiling has damp marks on so I'm guessing, not. :/

Don't use Diamondglaze by Dulux it's a con . It's water based. Looks lovely for about 2/3 years then breaks down and needs redoing. A real PITA.
Eager doggies claws mark it easily

  17. Would t touch diamond glaze. Or dulux since 2012. It's terrible since the voc regs. Americans have got water based down better but unfortunately expensive. May have to leave it in undercoats for a bit.

  18. Still on waterbased undercoats. Top coat will be carefully researched. ;)
