Should I help clear the snow off the road?

It's been snowing all night here, and is still coming down and is quite deep. A few neighbours are our clearing snow already.
We've got no plans to go anywhere or attempt to get the car out etc. I've got to go to work on Monday, but nothing before then.
Should I be out there shovelling snow and helping for the common good (and neighbourliness) or is it acceptable to stay warm indoors...?

 

I would but been signed off sick for another 2 weeks, it will be gone by then i hope.

 

In Germany its required by law that you clear the pavement outside your property.............and every body does......good little Germans!

I mentioned to an old German friend of mine that people in Germany were so much better than the England, about putting headlights on in bad visability, he laughed and said that the Germans would be just as bad if it wasn't the LAW. ( I had not realised)!!

stand in the window and wave at the neighbours - it'll boost their morale knowing that they are appreciated. For added effect, hold a mug of tea in the other hand and only wear your pants.

Edit - as its Mrs Moosey, you may want to cover up up top, Mr Moosey on the other hand can go for the pant effect.

 

Turns out, the neighbours weren't at it for long. Someone's already driven a path through the snow, so it should be OK for any other drivers now (not a busy road - no through traffic). Glad I didn't rush out there.
moosey on the other hand went out and cleared a pathway to the bird feeder so we can keep that topped up

 

You have to look after the feathered friends.

 

We've got a few mice that sneak the peanuts from the bird feeder. They are all running around with while mohawks at the mo.

 

I live on a new housing estate and we have to do it ourselves. There is a group of blokes who generally all go out and clear a bit each. There are a few who if their kids are off school because of the snow make their kids clear the road. they then tend to make snowmen / igloos out of all of the snow they have cleared

 

Ooh, thats given me terrible guilt....our feeders have been empty for a few days now, while my nieghbours have topped theirs up. I did go to Wilkinsons t'other day to stock up on sunflower hearts, niger seed n peanuts, but the lady at the checkout was a bit arsey with me so I left the lot on her til. Sorry to any birds who are reading this, if you wouldn't mind availing yourselves of the bounty put out in the adjacent gardens, I assure you normal service will be resumed soon...
