  1. Hi all,
I have a Aussie Bus which does not have a front belly pan, the question is should it have one? does it need one ? just thinking of all the carp off the road that could get under the peddles etc any help/advice much appreciated.
oh and colin really helped me out with MGF seats how on earth do you says thanks, like or stuff?

  2. Tilly ran around for ages without a front belly plate, fitted one in September I suppose it keeps road dirt off pedal linkages, too flimsy to be structural, will see how much dirt it traps.

  3. your bus will run perfectly well without, but they stop draughts and keep water/salt/road crap from the pedal mechanisms....maybe not a big issue in OZ, but I'd say pretty important in the UK...especially as winter's on its way

  4. There wasn't one on our bus when we got it, so I ordered a fibreglass one from "No More Rusty Bits".
Must get around to fitting it...!

you'll notice a lot less draught in the cab with one.

I'd guess the majority of buses don't have them.

  8. Do late bay ones fit cross dressers?

  9. Is this y my feet turn to Ice!

  12. Thanks all does any one have experience of the fibreglass one from "No More Rusty Bits"?

  13. There's a pic of my one in this thread:
    fibreglass pedal pan.....who made them?

I bought it a while ago. It's well made, with all the mounting holes in the right places. I've offered it up to the bus and it fits perfectly - but I've not actually attached it yet (steering box refurb and a few other things to complete first, etc...)

  15. I have one as it covers my scooby heater matrix. It's less draughty as others have said, as often the gaskets that are supposed to seal the hole around the pedals is missing.

This is probably true because of the number of imports and buses that have been badly treated over the years. If you have a well looked after British bus it's most likely that you'll have all the belly pans on

The same as late :), do you need one ;)

  18. Ah, so this will be why I can see daylight around the peddles, I did wonder. And it's also cold and draughty. A question about the fibreglass ones though, how sturdy are they? As I want my bus pretty low, what are the chances of scraping the underneath? Does fibreglass shatter as opposed to just denting metal ones? Or am I just thinking too much and would be highly unlikely to scrape the underneath on anything?
