Shot blasters. Do they actually work?

  1. So basically.. I need to strip and paint the bottom of my bus, already done the side bits and most of the inside of the wheel arches.

I only need to do the centre section of the bus, under the cab floor, under the fuel tank and behind the engine.

    I've seen these on ebay...

Does anyone know if they actually work?

    I've got a sealey 50l 3hp compressor.

Anyone any ideas if it's worth a punt?

  2. Oh before anyone says, I kind of need to do this at home, can't get the bus sprayed till underside is done, and dont really want to get the bus transported to a shot blasters. So needs to be a diy jobby

  3. Ive got a 9cfm 90 litre compressor and a small blast cabinet. The compressor cant keep up with it. I would think you will get a 10 second burst then have to wait a minute to build back up again

they work but you need big compressor, yours wont do it, look around for mobile blasters

I ran one on a 150 ltr compressor and it worked fine. I could just about do one steel wheel to a refill. I did most parts in a home made cabinet so that I could recycle the media. Then you have to sieve the media back into the pot. It's all a bit laborious really. I would pay someone next time. I sold the pot to @dog, perhaps he's finished with it now:D......then again maybe not.
