Yes just change the points to a module and keep your bosch distributor. A good job for Techenders.

 

I got a complete distributer with elecy ignition £54 from power spark as I collected cheaper if u want 1 for techenders pm me I'll pick 1 up for u bring it with me if u like !!

U can just replace points bit with elecy bit but I thought I'd treat my new engine !!

 

I read on Aircooled Tech that it is possible to use a strobe light for a static test (without starting the engine). It goes like this -

Connect the ground wire of your test light to a good ground and touch the positive spike to the spade connector on the ignition points. The light should be "ON". Rotate the distributor CW until the light goes out. Now rotate the distributor CCW very slowly until the light JUST comes on

Is it possible to do this with a 009? And where is the "spade connector on the ignition points?
