Setting the timing

  2. i would get one on e bay for a couple of quid , although you have set it up by placing a voltmeter its still not set up properly . dont forget if that timing is out a few degrees you could cause damage to the engine . have you thought of putting it on a rolling road , this will ensure correct mixture and timing is spot on . you will be amazed what the van will run like !!!
     
  3. Paul, they are not quite idiot proof, watch out for melting the rubber insulation on the exhaust.. You will never guess how I know about this...

    Also with while marking tdc on the crank pully with a bit of Topex.

    ...and don't get the leads caught in the fan belt - and remember it's while doing this you burn them on the exhaust. :)
