setting the camber angle DIY style

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by gary gizamo, Feb 17, 2019.

  1. I took my van for the camber setting and the guy didn't know how to do it, so i showed him and then he hadn't got a spanner to fit the nut and this was a main stream company starting with an A and ending with an S.
So i'm gonna do it myself, i have made my angle finder so thats good to go, what i wanted confirming, is the camber angle set at +4?

If you struggle getting a thin spanner, its the same size as a Viscous fan spanner and even your local halfords do them

Also if you have a smartphone you can usually get a clinometer app which means you can use that on a level bit of ground by resting your phone against the wheel rim.
If the ground isnt flat across the front wheels you can measure its slope with the app and then rotate everything by subtracting or adding the slope you measured.
It was good enough to get mine from trying to drive off the road in a big circle, to running true at 65mph so I can let go of the wheel ... until the wind gusts .
