Servo system diagram

  1. Hi I have a 73 bay with a servo, however it’s not connected to anything! Does anyone have a diagram showing how it all connects. Also how it connects to the inlet manifold
    Many thanks

Vacuum takeoff from a spigot on inlet manifold. T1 on vertical section of manifold, T4 cant remember precisely - may be off one side near a cylinder head.

Non return valve allowing manifold to suck air through servo vacuum pipe.
Vacuum hose flex pipe that wont collapse with maybe 10psi vacuum and is reasonable diameter feeds servo vacuum feed .
The hose is also the reservoir for vacuum when the throttle is opened (manifold pressure rises) so the non return valve fits close to the inlet manifold takeoff.
Air vent pipe from servo tucked into hole inside front wheel arch to stop it sucking up muck.

Most likely if the servo is not connected, its defective. A faulty diaphragm acts as an air leak causing fast and lean idling and other problems.

  3. Thanks for this

If it's a type 4 with original carbs it will have a steel balance pipe as marked in red on this diagram. The balance pipe T's off through the tinware as marked.
