  2. Those figures sound pretty garbage. Then again, I would think you could decide the price and the number of jobs available to work in your favour. My Vaillant costs £80 to service, so £48 would seem a bargain to me...£25 too cheap.

For drumming up business and showcasing your talents it would be something worth considering. The generation of potential customers who look in shop windows for local cards are on their way out. Who even bothers with the 'Yellow Pages' or 'Thomson local'? It's straight to the internet or at a push those local area mags that are mainly drawn out ads.

If you're paying £80 for a boiler service you're paying too much!

  4. I'm a self employed sparky and I advertise with 'TraustaTrader'. It was about £700 inc VAT for the year, which i thought was a rip-off, but i've just done a 5 bedroom re-wire because of it. So it has paid for itself now. You could try a page on Facebook, there are local pages on there posting jobs they want doing, for all trades, so that might be worth a look.

Or you use your bay as your work van like me, it definitely gets you noticed! lol

When I got my van the guy who had fitted it out said I needed to have the gas installation checked because he couldn't certify it. He was looking for someone to provide that service.
Must admit I never have , but I guess there must be a need for that type of service. Thinking caravan, motorhomes ?
Bit niche I know but I've never seen anyone advertise that service
