seat and mot law

  1. i cannot find the mot post so can anyone advise on following please ? thing is , the drivers seat in my bus is bolted to the floor , no runners , cannot move ,>>> is that an mot fail ? and if it is, if i source any old seat and runners from breakers yard and fit same in working order , will that be agreeable re mot law ? ta for opinions/advice
     
  2. Mine is welded in and I've sailed through the MOT's I've had done since owning Rusty.

    If I remember right - it doesn't have to have runners. If it does have then they have to work. So you should be OK.
    Correct me if I'm wrong somebody :thinking:
     
  4. Mine have runners etc but the seats are welded in all the same. Guess it comes down to the tester.

    as bern says, if it is adjustable it has to adjust, therefore being permanently fixed makes it unadjustable therefore it's a pass.

  8. Yup mine are fixed in after the front arches were tubbed, got an MOT last year (in again on Tuesday) so no probs.
     
  9. Mine are bolted in, MOT'd it this month, no problem.
