Scam Ads - Camper & Bus Oct 2015

  1. Most people have online bank accounts it takes me 2 min to transfer cash from 1 account to another, who actually would carry 10-15 grand in cash?
Plus to get it out of most banks you would have to order the money as lots don't have that much to withdraw.

I paid cash because it was the only way I could payy because banking with a building society has its drawbacks. And an envelope full of cash is still about the only transfer regarded by the receiving bank as instantly valid.

I think that Volksworld magazine has a better variety of bus related material than Camper and Bus as it is more aligned with enthusiasts rather than C&B being more about spending lots of cash on shiny buses or being a professional. After a few years it gets a bit monotonnous. Like my daughter stopoping Kerrang because even the posters of bands repeated after a while.

  3. Good way of hiding a dodgy clutch or poor braking even iffy steering :D . As a potential buyer I'd keep clear of any vendor who wouldn't allow a test drive even if they sat in the passenger seat.

They can test drive it AFTER they've paid for it. There's no way I'd let a succession of random tyre kicking strangers having free goes of my bus.
If a potential customer is test driving your bus and stuffs it into a parked car how would you get it paid for if he turned round and said it was your fault because the steering was too vague? In fact you'd probably wind up with him claiming compensation from you.

I test drove my bus before I bought it. For me, no test drive = no purchase.

I'll cross you and Fritt off my list of potential purchasers should I ever decide to flog my bus then. :) Which only leaves another 63,489,234 other people who might buy it.

  7. to stump up 10k plus for a vehicle without even driving it would lead me to believe you had a mental retardation lol
when I bought my bus, I did it all wrong going by this thread.....i bought the first one I looked at, paid 7k in used fifties, and the seller let me drive it for a good 10 miles with no quibbles.....its a wonder I got a half decent one really! :p

You'd have to be a complete idiot to spend £10k+ without a test drive. I believe you'll struggle should you ever try and sell it if you won't let anyone drive it.
Like it or not that's a fact.

 Right so I just have to find a complete idiot who has money burning a hole in his/her pocket. Hmmmm! I don't think that'll be too tricky. :)

  15. That truly is a barn!! Every credit! Just sorted my garage to fit the bus in length and height ways... So when she comes back from the paintshop the new home awaits...

I've spent three years lying in the drive replacing alsorts on the bus in all weathers... Worse was when I'd taken the starter off blocking the wives car up the drive and it started snowing... The spanners were so cold that day!

    Roll on indoor spannering!

  19. All this talk of cash I just don't understand. Electronic transfer is so easy. Cash can be counterfeit and you don't know untill after it's been paid into your bank.
