runners for drivers seat

  1. Howdy folks,

I've got an issue with my drivers seat (rhd) in that the previous owner had 'new' seats installed off of a t25 i think.

They are fine and comfy except that the seat was bolted into a fixed position without the runners to allow it to slide forward and back. I'm sure it was great for him but i'm pretty tall and my other half not so much so its not a great spot for either of us to be honest.

I need to know how to get my hands on said runners and how to install them. Will there be welding involved or is it more of a simple job that a newbie like myself can manage. I've uploaded a shot of the seats for reference because i'm not 100% on what they.

All help and advice gratefully receiced,

  2. seat runners pop up on here and ebay every now and again, are you wanting to keep these or go back to original seats?

if your going back to originals youd need to get the runners, measure up and get them in the right place, weld them on (only a few plug welds) and then just put the seats in.

if your wanting to keep those^ i have no idea.

  3. I think I would get some universal seat runners, you need to bear in mind that runners will also raise the height of the seats, when I changed my seats I went for saab seats as they are quite low slung, my head still touches the headlining though. I had to grind off all the old seat runners and drill fresh holes to bolt the seats down through the saab runners.

  4. Thanks. Do you know approximately how much it raised up the seats? I have got to go sit in the bus and see how much clearance i've got...

  5. If they're really from a T25, you may find late late Bay runners fit. I think JK sell repros, else it's a clip from a van. You'll need to tack-weld them on - no big deal.

  6. Bluebird Customs do seat bases/ swivel bases which your seats may fit,,give em ring or check the web page..they very helpfully.
