Rules for selling on here

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Purple, Jan 14, 2020.

  1. The 'rules' say that a price has to be included, which is fair enough for single items, but what if you've got a load of assorted parts that you have no idea of the price?

I've got loads of parts I want to advertise, but no idea of their value. I'm not looking to shaft anyone by the way, just get a reasonable price for it all.

Either look on eBay for prices or just ask how much you want and add open to offers.

As long as there is an effort to add some prices it should be okay. We are just trying to make sure that we aren’t an auction site.

I’ll add to this. We like a location as that enables the prospective buyer to weigh up the feasibility of a collection or arrangement of one.

We like pictures so as we all know exactly what is being sold re any come backs ( not that we get involved)

We like prices as that makes things clear to every one.

We asked people not to just link to EBAY and say I’m selling this if anyone is interested as that shows a complete lack of regard for those that don’t have EBAY and a lacklustre approach to your sale. However a link to your eBay item in your sale listing along with a good write up is fine.

Regarding pricing lots of items. Others have managed it in the past, but if you really don’t know the price of everything you’re selling then a ‘ open to offers’ seems fair enough.

selling something on here isn’t difficult we just need clarity and ask people to take a moment to do a decent sale listing. Also don’t forget It may be the difference between a successful sale or not.
