  1. when I got my first camper 6 vans ago it came with a box of spares
Most of the things I sold or gave away as not needed
    Kept the bosh starter motor
had two go's at getting it up and working but dead
My starter on the camper is sometimes slow cranking
    But always starts
    so
Yesterday traded in the dead bosh
    So old starter non working
    + £18
= a brand new RTX starter motor
Just going to fit it and keep mine as a spare see how well it works
And it came with a gear box bush
    It's very light
    Will it work :)

I have a Powerlite in the V8 MGB, it’s very similar to the WOSP - good quality, lighter, more torque - but considerably cheaper.

  6. I got a REMY one from eurocarparts, looks like a rebuilt Bosch to me...

  7. Will fit it over the weekend or when we are all on lock down
    Will keep you all posted
It will go well with my
    Power spark dizzy
Lion battery both 6 or 7 years old about 18000 miles but still going
I do carry a spare points dizzy
Now a cheap stater to keep the other parts happy (or not )
    Ps it's got a 2 year replacement
As we will all be board will put up photos

With a 7 year old battery, I would get that tested. Its probably OK but might be not helping when the starter motor has to work hard.

  9. I think a lot of the Bosch recon ones are crap now. Also NEVER use anything from Eurolec, geared (powerlite)? or otherwise, ever. Best strip what you have and rebuild, or get trusted workshop to do that for you. Expensive experience....
Battery condition is everything-£100,000 car is just a heap without a good battery. An intelligent battery charger (optimate) saved it's cost several times over by less ruined batteries. They don't like standing idle.
