fao everyone who s not local to rtth the locals do have there own way of talking but are mostly friendly once you hand your money over so if you do encounter any locals here a guide to the phrases / language they may talk ey up mi duck / hello black tother bills mathers / it may rain waTer /water wesh/ wash often / alfreton local town cockby in asfield/kirkby in ashfield local town illson /ilkeston local town will add more as i remember them
You're opening a can of worms there, my friend. There are loads of phrases like that in the East Midlands general dialect. BBC Leicester website once did a whole load of them. Stuff like - gorra bag on / in a bad mood put wood in't ole / shut the door shin tin / she isn't at home etc......

There is of course the legendary "gizzah croggeh" (please could you give me a lift on your bicycle) and "getyer coggeh" (go and fetch your swimming costume).
annoyingly the cannock lads i work with replace are with am, so in the morning i hear, how am ya? or where am ya goooin? that's yam yams for you though.
