Roof rack waterproof box.

  1. As the subject says really, I've got a 2 bow roof rack and I'm thinking it would be nice to make, (or buy), something to fit in it that I can fix in place, (or at least have easy fix fixings ready for it).

I'm thinking some form of waterproof box or suitcase but I'm open to the wonderful people of TLB for their ideas or 'this is what I did' photos.

  2. Ammo boxes are popular.

  3. Flagbus made a box. I'm sure he put a how-to thread on here. Give me a mo and I will try to find it

  4. When ive had to put stuff ontop of my focus ive used drybags before, bungied or strapped on.
Dont know if this is of any use to you but its an alternative idea.

  7. Ah, that's who it was. I remembered someone somewhere did one but couldn't for the life if me remember who.

  8. Ooh, I like that. I'm off to have a trawl around eBay!

    Thanks all for the ideas.

  9. Ammo boxes have waterproof seals on their lids, and are quite good. If you've got a 2 bow roof rack, then the shape of this might be appropriate to fit:

I got a really small one as a toolbox, and rather than leaving it NATO green I stickerbombed it. You could also paint it to match the bus - might avoid unwanted questions from the rozzers as well if you do that.
