  1. We are considering getting a roof mounted dvd with freeview for our van, has anyone got one (makes and model would be handy) and is it any good??

    Thank you

  2. Have a look at the Avtex range.

  3. or get a Tivizen digital tv tuner and watch telly on your iPad! I use a bit of string to dangle the iPad from the poptop bracket (rear hinge Westy) have a cable to the stereo and have digital telly in my bus. the girls watch fom upstairs with Linda and me on the sofa downstairs (aka rear seat).

the Tivizen broadcasts digital telly as wifi, you tune the iPad to the Tivizen and off you go. All free view.

  4. I like that idea Bertiebot. I too was trying to put free view in the bus but just put movies on the ipad for the kids now.

Nice little find there. Will have a look into one of these myself.

    K+ to ya. Oops

  5. roof mounting your TV to the roof limits where you can see the screen

we have out TV/DVD mounted to the B pillar so we can watch from the back seats/bed or swing it around so we can watch TV outside/in the awning

  6. if you do get one they are pretty good and about Half the size of a pack of ciggies. the thing that foxed me for a bit is that every time you park up to retune the channels which takes about a minute and the Tivizen does for itself as from area to area they appear to be at different frequencies. I'm talking Cornwall versus Derbyshire rather than 10 miles up the road.

  7. I use my laptop with a TV tuner ,very cheap (£15) plus it has DVD player built in plus you can download stuff before you set off and watch them and also connect to the internet for streaming and live footy if you connect a dongle or just use your iphone via personal hotspot or some sites have free wi-fi

  8. Do you get good signal with the aerial that the tuner came with? I was thinking of getting one, but concerned I'll end up stood on the roof waving it around to try and get a picture!

  9. Right the aerial I got with it was terrible ,so I managed to get an other ,the one Rickyroo got with his was miles better ,mine was just like a car aerial but his seemed to be miles smalled but liked zig zagged if that makes any sense ,he got a picture I didnt ,but I just mainly stream the TV via the internet when I'm away

  10. You can get some really good tv apps for the iPad then use wifi or SIM card to watch tv. I have a mount made to hold an ipad which mounts to my screen or side windows just like a sat nav mount. I think I got it from amazon. Also bought a cheap Bluetooth head unit so the sound can be wirelessly played through the bus speakers. Works a treat for us.
