My dads bus (mt9876) was running like a bag of nails so he decided to pop the rocker covers off to have a look and was presented with the following: Two of the pushrods had snapped as well. He is running a corvair flat 6. Any ideas why this has happened?
I can't offer any real advice but there is a guy on Kombi Club here in OZ who is a bit of a specialist when it comes to Corvair engines. Want me to get in touch with him for you? I'll PM you as well.
Please. He has put his old pushrods and rockers back in and all seems to be working ok. It's not like he was gunning the engine either, just cruising down the motorway at 65/70 and boom it went. The broken rockers were heavy duty ones and the pushrods were just standard ones.
