just a quickie have two small kids and need to stick them in proper seat belts not lap ones. any one seen the r nr beds with full 3 point seat belts ? any good? thanks!
The belts fix to the van structure not the bed itself so its fairly straight forward to fit 2 x 3 point belts. Its easiest with a microbus conversion (not a panel) and a full width bed.
We've got a 3 point on one side at the rear, but we have a westy interior with 3/4 bed so only lap belt on that side...
Here's a good solution for 3 points but its only possible with 2 really and one lap belt http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/uber-rare-rear-3-point-inertia-seatbelt-bracket.18366/
the extension isn't because they're inertia belts, its to raise the height of the upper mounting so that in an accident you don't crush your spine via the seatbelt pulling down instead of back
I've got 2x 3point belts in my my bus with a full width bed. Easy to fit and work a treat. I have put extenders on the buckle side to make it a bit longer.
What's the rules re fitting belts in the back? If its never had a seat before do you need to fit them if you install one or not?
Saw a special made bed with inertial reals attached so two 3 points in a 3/4 bed will have to find link and company again don't really want one up front and one at the back ...
How old are your children? Are they in booster seats, Or full children's seats? The same issue exists with the inertia belts on those which is they're to low on the shoulder strap
kids are 2 and 5 both come with full children's seats. thought might of been a ruling on height location of top point or something. one in the rear and one up front it is then. (ooh er misses) thanks.
