Anyone got any ideas about the best retro looking radio for a 75 bay, wants to look like the original but with cassette part being replaced with a CD
i git one of these in molly...much nicer in real life that pic actua,ly makes it look horrid.... everyone loves it when they see it...and it can charge through usb and has aux and cd too x
I love it how those old radios live on as a term on computers (radio buttons) for a button selection where only one button can be pressed at a time and when you press another the previous button goes off I expect alot of youngsters have no idea why they are called radio buttons
Is white over blue the new..... well - colour sceme for all late bays as if so Im gonna need to get the roller out!
Lol only just noticed, 4 different ones on the same thread. you can put your roller away theres enough white over blues already
I was actually seriously considering having the lower done in a pastel blue when me weldings finito. Probably why it caught my eye
Its pretty easy to add ipod connection to any old radio, though some will have a really weak low powered amp in them that were designed to run just one speaker.
Where do they get the prices from on that tadpole radios site? £400+ for a 70's radio with £5 worth of conversion done to it.
If you count the price of the original radio (seem to sell for £150) and the interface and the Sony head unit to go with it, it's not too bad. Not cheap, but a turnkey job.
Look on vwheritage they do ones like in the pics posted before. With our tlb discount it comes to about 200ish quid I think. http://m.vwheritage.com/productDetails.cfm?iItemID=126147614
We have the RetroSounds model 1. it has ipod socket on the front and one in the glove box. it also takes SD card and flash drive. most importantly the volume goes up to 50 And it has a remote, so you can skip ipod tracks. Fits perfectly and was quick and easy into the original hole without the need for a cage. We got it from heritage.
