Replacement heater bellows wrong size

  1. It's time to replace the heater bellows that connect the heat exchangers to the pipes that run to the cab.

All the ones I've see for sale are the wrong dimensions. When compaerd with the old ones, all the new ones look too long and narrow and the connectors are too small.

The OD of the cab pipes and heater valves are 60mm which means the bellows need a connector ID of 60mm. Yet all the ones I've seen have an OD 60mm which means they will not slide over.

Also the ones I took off had a rubber sleeve between the bellows and the valves/pipes which means the ID of the old ones was probably about 70 to 80mm

Also, length wise, they need to be quite short: about 300mm ish.

    Any ideas?

  2. I fitted the JK ones recently. The rubber sleeves fit on the outsides and all fit OK. (I'm not actually certain the sleeves are needed though if you look at their diagrams) A bit fiddly as the bellows are quite stiff. With my 2 litre T4 engine I found it was easiest to take off the flap valves and attach them to the bellows first, then clamp the front end to the bus, finally compressing the bellows and fitting the valves.

Almost entirely plastic but they seem to work OK.

The jk concertina tubes i have unscrew and screw up at one end .. to lenghthen and shorten them. It also helps to warm them up before fitting.
