Hello All, As I have previously stated I have just started importing bus's from South Africa with a view of keeping a few and selling a few. What I would really like to know is do prospective new buyers prefer the Inside to be sorted? or the bodywork to be sorted? If you had to choose one or the other I can't help but want to do work on these things its soooo adictive!!! but I have to restrict myself otherwise I'll end up with a dozen fully renovated VW's that will owe me a fortune! Please advise Chewie not relevant but just the dancing icon!!!
personally if you are gonna restore outside i'd want full photo evidence of work done so it wasn't new paint over filler..... and as for the inside that depends on kids/no kids and full size or 3/4 bed against storage..... it's a hard one to be fair but i'd rather buy a van untouched so i could make it my own.
Don't import buses that need more than a polish and an MOT? That way you're selling good honest buses, which is what most people want I would have thought.
good points well worth considering on both posts!! Personally, I think, if I was going to buy a restored bus, I would want to have a few options to choose from interior wise and be able to view before I commited. I do like the 3/4 r n r bed, more than enough room with the westy storage option. When we bought our westy, we bought it imported, mot'd but not registered - took a gamble on the engine condition which thankfully is a peach - the interior needs tidying but works.
