Rejuvenating a laminate interior

  1. Do you have tips on rejuvenating 35 year old laminate and repairing scratches on a Westfalia interior after it has been given a good clean ? I have been looking at a few rejuvenating liquids and laminate repair kits (mainly floor but I don't suppose it makes much difference), but before buying anything I thought I would ask for your experiences on what works and what does not !

  2. Mr Sheen works pretty good for me.

i buffed my interior up with a scratch repair polish that i got from the local iron mongers , it was ok for a while but now it looks as it did !

  4. Andyv, probably seemed a bit of a daft question because I would normally have just used household cleaning products but I was thinking along the lines of 'Tcut for paint', 'wax or oil for woods' and therefore '? For laminate'. The polish or protective finish can come afterwards. Maybe I am just hoping for too much from such old laminate.

PT.....guess its time to do yours again then :)

I tried T-cut on westy and it improved but not enough. I think it needs feeding with something I'd be tempted to try danish oil or similar.

  6. I found using furniture wax then mr sheen bought everything back pretty well

  7. You could try a search on Formica repair kits or Formica filler though I've not so far need to go that far.

  8. I've been trying to sort the same problem on my 79 Westy as well. Google search suggests wax polish as best solution but everything I've tried thus far makes it look shinier... But still just as faded!

  9. I tried furniture wax on mine £16 from b&q, but it didn't work. A bit shinier but still just as faded.

I'm sure the deep colour must still be under the surface somewhere. It looks great when I wet it!
