Rear wheel nuts not on far enough

  1. Whats cheaper longer studs or having the drum turned down in a lathe?

  2. I was always told a minimum of three turns of the thread showing above the nut

I knew a lad with a corsa gsi with a tuned calibra turbo engine fitted
220 bhp in a tiny front wheel drive car
He fitted after market alloys and only had two turns of the thread showing after torquing up

Being young and feeling invincible he thought it would do

I had a machine shop press longer studs in after the front wheel came off as i just hit the apex of a roundabout at 50 mph

  3. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

On a bay the studs are always flush with the top of the nuts. Rule of thumbs stylee.

  4. A friend of mine has a lathe so I'm going to have a word and see what he can do cheers guys , all I want is the nuts all the way down it will bug me unless they are
