Rear wheel arch tub - advice needed pls

Morning all,

I’ve been looking without any luck, for a rear right wheel arch tub for a ‘72 bay. (I’m not paying £400 without attempting a mod first
My question is, can a split screen tub be modified to fit. I know from studying photos that where it will attach to the rear panel is higher up and not on the arch lip. Is it worth getting one as a starter point?

Probably not , buy a repro outer arch and a bead roller , I think
