rear tin ware repairs

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Diddymen, May 20, 2013.

  1. afternoon all,

my rear tinware is rather crispy around the pully area .....in fact I've poked a few holes through it.

So I've started repairing it by making some bits up....but the whole thing is pretty pitted TBH....and I'm sure I will end up blowing a few more holes in it with the welded.

    so my question is -

can I used the bit below to graft onto my existing rear tin? .....I'm thinking I will have to graft over the little bits that go around the pre heat pipes or what ever it is :D

and the profile bit that is for the foam seal

its pretty much the complete centre bit on mine that could do with being repaired ......but if its easier to transfere a few bits over then........

so is it worth having a go?

.....also noticed the description says not suitable for a bay.......but the details for which vehicle ,and additional information boxes say it is

  2. doh, just realised .....its the engine foam seal bit that I need to repair .....and that bit has none of the bits I need :(

.....oh well, back to the drawing board, welder and grinder

  3. zed has a good condition one for sale if memory serves me correctly

  4. then I will have to speak nicely to zed :D
