Rear hatch window. Fit it before or after fitting the hatch?

  1. My replacement rear hatch is all painted and ready for the window to be fitted.

Is it easier to fit the window after the hatch is fitted or can i fit it before?

  2. Probably best after. Good news is it's the easiest to fit. My daughter fitted mine!

  4. On her own?

    Cool.
Checked the window with the seal fitted and its massive. About 10mm wider and higher than the opening.
Think its a brazilian seal if that makes any odds.

  5. Daughter did the string-pulling. I did the thumping from outside...

Long bit of nylon cord and you're sorted.

After, with the hatch open - the easiest one of all, I save it for when I'm halfway through a rear side one.

Makes the string puller think you have the important job...:D

  8. Will have to wait until next weekend when i can get some help. Missus will fall asleep during the string pulling if i ask her to help. :(

  9. I did mine out of the bus... Means you can pull strings and push at the same time

  10. I just tried that as it sounded like it was possible to do it single handedly.
    It was. :)

You've got a little something on the glass! :)

  12. There's still a bare bit in the middle though so I can see the cars I'm holding up. ;)
