Rear door lock has packed in

I can't get the key to go into the lock to turn it. Does this mean I have to get a new barrel and key or is there a way to fix it? 1972 Bay with the chrome lock.

 

Could try some graphite powder to free it up, most likely gummed up with crap.

 

Is it unlocked? If so you can take it out from the inside and then see to it. Mine was a broken bit of lock innards

You can also pop the card off the door and get round behind it . Then pull on the tag operated when the push button works and it will pop open.
Still I would try a belt of plus-gas on it to try and soften crud, then if you get the key in and unlock it you can dismantle clean and lubricate slightly with graphite as grease just hardens and picks up dirt.

 

Swap it for a Scooby one?

 

Thanks - I tried this and can get the key in now but can't turn it. So I think it's broken like Betsy73 above and will have to get a new one. At Skegvegas at weekend so will look for a proper one.
