RAC or AA?

  1. Just about to buy cover for my bay. Which would you go for and why?

  2. I have AA, seems cheaper and more comprehensive. Top tip is use " topcashback. Co.uk" and get up to £60 cash back.

Whichever comes free with my insurance, often works out cheaper as a package

  4. With my AA they gave me 6 months home emergency cover for free. A week later I sliced a heating pipe with a floor sander and they fixed it on Sunday afternoon for free, so probably saved a couple of hundred quid!

  5. RAC as I believe AA still do hub relay. So if you live in Cornwall and breakdown in Scotland they'll take you home, but you end up being taken in stints between different depots and trucks.

this happened to me when i broke down in my work van in hastings i live in derby
we had to change trucks three times

  7. Rac, because the aa sends out monkeys trained as fitters, most of them only have a big ***** off hammer in their van and use it to mend anything they've not seen before.

  8. AA. Purely so he'd stop pestering me whenever I left our local Asda!:D I wanted AA for the Relay but it's a bit of a hefty addition to the cost, hence I don't have relay....... yet.

  9. rac free with my bank account, but i pay for my bank account, but i also get other stuff as well.

Have had bothin the last couple of years - AA were a bit arsey when I phoned up to question the price last year so went with RAC. We've called them out twice this year and they have been pretty helpful.

How about Green Flag? They may not be the biggest, but by Jimminy, anything advertised by Harry Hill in the guise of a green ant must be good......

  12. How about AutoAid? cheap as chips for the year. In a breakdown you call them, they send someone out, you pay up front for the recovery and then send them the bill and they sens you a cheque in a few days.

I've had to use them once and it couldn't have been smoother, no fuss.

AA as they cover you even as a passenger not the vehicle so you only need one policy and the rac ripped me off once

  16. Green Flag, I believe unless I miss read their T+C's, only cover vehicles under a certain age.o_O unless they've changed it.

Looking around as AA just quoted me £147 from 80 last year, been with `em for 20+ years and they`ve been troubled by me ......... TWICE !!

(not the van I hasten to add !)

    Are they for real ???
Seems they need to get in touch with the real AA - alcoholics anon ...
