  1. Hey guys and girls.

Quick question for you all please.

What do people look for and specifically want from a courier??

    Thanks

  2. Competitive Price
Ability to book and track delivery online
Good contact details - ie phone and email
    UK Delivery
    Specified collection and delivery times
    Good customer service
Guarantee of delivery and no damage to the item
    Attractive delivery staff

    Just for starters

  3. Good rates, same cost for entire uk
    Genuine signature on delivery
Fast credits for lost items including the lost profit
    Same day collection
    And a driver that smiles
    That's all

  4. OK that's good, and all very relevant.

Are you more likely to use a big firm or a small outfit/self employed guy or is it down to money and reputation.

  5. Not secret kerbside delivery.

  6. Who is that ???

  7. It's happened to me twice. And TBH I think it's more the retailers fault rather than the courier. The first time it was a range cooker left literally kerbside when I lived on a hill in a terraced house with a yard and two lots of steps. Fast forward a few years to last month when a washing machine was left at the end of my drive strapped to a pallet with the courier refusing to help me into the house with it as 'wasn't what it said on the sheet' and some nonsense about health and safety.

I'll always question 'free delivery' on large appliances/items from now on.

  8. All the above plus:

Ability to read and remember instructions such as "leave by back door if no answer" not return to depot 25 miles away and leave me hanging on your automated rearrange delivery line for 30 minutes only for you to not leave it by the back door the next day and take it back to the depot again!

  9. Price ,thats all that drives me ,unless I've had a bad experience then I wont use that courier again ,ie Monkey parcels.

  10. NO "drama queen histronics!" when i sign the delivery note "these goods not inspected/accounted for"(to cover me in event of claim).

A fair price, sometimes a choice of collection time. reliability in delivery time slot but most importantly care in transit and therefore insurance cover in case of accident.

  14. I use a man with van ,he can pick up anything, anywhere ,back axles ,windows ,fridges etc ,what I like about him he does not ask questions like how big is it? how much does it weigh etc...

american fridge for instance ,he know how big it is and how heavy ,tis common sence...

  15. Confirmed delivery pickup and drop off time.

Hate having to sit in waiting for the courier or posture, if sending to a residential address.

Time slot defo if receiving price if sending.

  16. big um ::)

  19. OK, now you guys have answered the first post, can I ask you Late Bayers something else. Serious answers please.

Do you think 1 guy and a large van would be able to make a living buy being a courier for as many car/bike forums as possible??
Knowing how passionate people are about their classics/cars/bike, also being part of the community, would that help.

Or are people stuck in their ways with couriers they are using. Would there be enough work.

    Thanks
