Quarter lights fixed/non fixed?

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by lovedubs, Jan 21, 2013.

  1. Do all type 2 bays have quarter lights?
When did they change from being opeing to fixed, or is this optional?
What would be involved in changing fixed to opening?
    cheers

do you mean opening ones? i know they don't all have opening ones and have no idea if it's optional - hopefully the nighttime mob will know.

I think Eu buses have fixed (our 73 has) with US having opening qtr lights - but can't be fully sure

  5. Opening quarter lights were an option on european buses - you tended to find them on deluxe models mostly. They are more commonly found on US buses, I think they may even have been standard, but I'm not sure. I'd like some opening ones for my van, but I'm waiting until I get the cab doors sorted out (they're a bit rusty) because of the work involved dismantling them.

Opening ones are excellent! Perfect in summer to get air blowing through

  7. Most Euro Westys have them as standard.

Otherwise it was and optional extra when first bought.

  8. If you can get some opening quarter lights fit them, in our balmy hot summers they are abrilliant bit of kit if fully opened they push a lovely breeze into the van, just make sure any thing on the dash is fixed as it will soon blow away,

  11. Get quarterlights if you can, they're much better than winding a window down to get the air flowing in the summer.
