Quarter Light Catch

I need to replace the window catch on the quater light. Is it possible to take the glass out when the window is open (see photo).

Yes, it will come out if you tug on it.
The glass that is.

 

Would it come out easier if I drill out the two rivets holding the old catch in.

 

Is it the catch or just the handle? If the latter, if you rotate it, you might see a small roll-pin. Knock that out and the handle comes off.

 

Just an update. I have taken the old catch and glass out the frame and fitted the new catch (see photo). I have ordered a new window seal from a company called Creative Engineering. I will let you now how it goes when im finnished.
